چکیده
Introduction: Mitral stenosis is a condition characterized by the narrowing of mitral valve, which regulates blood flow between left atrium and ventricle heart. Objectives: The main objective study to find mid-term clinical echocardiographic outcomes percutaneous transvenous commissurotomy in patients with rheumatic stenosis. Material Methods: present was retrospective observational conducted at Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad. included total 70 who underwent (PTMC) 1st January 2022 30th June 2022. Results: A PTMC Abbottabad, were this study. mean age 39.2 ± 12.8 years, 52 (74.3%) females. valve area (MVA) prior 0.9 0.2 cm^2 that increased 1.8 0.3 after procedure, it statistically significant (p<0.001). immediate success rate 94.3%, while 90%. Conclusion: In conclusion, safe effective treatment option for Our showed resulted improvement area, trans-mitral pressure gradient, pulmonary artery systolic pressure, symptoms dyspnea, fatigue, palpitations. OBJECTIVE To determine the efficacy and safety of percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC), using multi-track double balloon technique in juvenile mitral stenosis. DESIGN Open non-randomised intervention. SETTING Cardiac catheterisation laboratories of The Mater Hospital, The Nairobi Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital from 1996 to 2001. Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC) was performed successfully without complications in 3 patients with severe mitral stenosis and hyperthyroidism. All 3 patients had pliable, noncalcified mitral valves. One patient who had been treated with methimazole for 6 months was still in a hyperthyroid state when she presented with intractable congestive heart failure and was found to ...
متن کاملSHORT TERM CLINICAL OUTCOME OF PERCUTANEOUS BALLOON MITRAL VALVULOPLASTY VERSUS SURGICAL CLOSED MITRAL COMMISSUROTOMY
BaIlon mitral valvuloplasty and closed mitral valve conunissurotomy were performed in 450 and 127 patients, respectively. Also, 254 patients with severe mitral stenosis were enrolled in a prospective randomized trial comparing the two procedures. Immediately after balloon mitral valvuloplasty, mean left atrial pressure was 11.38±3.54 mmHg, transmitral valve gradient was 1.8±2 mmHg, and mit...

A woman, aged 30 years with situs inversus, dextrocardia and severe rheumatic mitral restenosis was referred to AFIC/NIHD for commissurotomy. A Closed Mitral Valvotomy (CMV) for severe mitral stenosis had already been done 8 years earlier, and her symptoms had reappeared. She was evaluated with transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and found to have a mitral valve area of 0.6 cm2, ...

PURPOSE We determined factors associated with long-term outcomes of patients who underwent successful percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty (PMV). MATERIALS AND METHODS Between August 1980 and May 2013, 1187 patients underwent PMV at Severance Hospital, Seoul, Korea. A total of 742 patients who underwent regular clinic visits for more than 10 years were retrospectively analyzed. The endpo...
